I am sure I would never believe it !

Just 26 letters . . .

A b C d E f G h I J k L m N o P Q r S t U v W x Y Z

If you didn't know that all the books that had ever been written, and all the words that had ever been spoken in the English language had been made up of just 26 letters would you believe it?

If you had no knowledge of it and someone handed you a puzzle with 26 pieces and told you that you could combine them to create everything you had ever read or spoken. In fact anything that billions of people had ever read, written or spoken wouldn't you be totally, absolutely, awestruck!

I don't know why this had never dawned on me before. I mean, of course I knew it intellectually, but the actual realization, the moment when I really thought about it, totally astounded me!

So, I thought I would use those 26 letters to see if it had ever struck you like that too! :-)

The Celebrations Continued

. . . and the celebrations continued.
My lovely in-laws arranged a wonderful 50th birthday party for me.

The weather was beautiful.

The food was glorious.

Thank you everyone for giving me such a lovely day!

I owe the world an attitude of gratitude."

Things I observed while waiting in a parked car

Today as I was
SITTING PATIENTLY WATCHING THE WORLD GO BY

I saw
. . .

Rows of cars shepherded into lines

Black road worn tyres

A plastic bag floating on the wind.

Two women climb from a car, laughing
they clutched their bags close to their chest like children.
The sunlight glints on their glasses as they cross the road.

A small blue van pulls up next to me,
surreal graphics and a driver chewing gum.

A bird flies overhead.

A beeping forklift truck engages boxes in an agile ballet,
before disappearing into the dark warehouse.

A large white van reverses into the space beside me
door opens and a flourescent jacket with a man inside slides out.
He walks to the back doors, flings them open and begins to unload.

Small man, big glasses, emerges carrying two large silver bolts,
he jumps into his van and quickly drives away.

In my wing mirror I can see leaves dancing in the breeze.
