Made me think of this poem.

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

The Soldier
Rupert BrookePaul Andrew Russellhttp://www.paulandrewrussell.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6761090274076720975.post-83989750891426502572011-05-15T13:46:28.868+01:002011-05-15T13:46:28.868+01:00The blown hair against the blown sky - that is an ...The blown hair against the blown sky - that is an image to revisit.Harry Nicholsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16801422418560281658noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6761090274076720975.post-3636326375160512232011-05-15T10:02:15.161+01:002011-05-15T10:02:15.161+01:00ahhah!so you and Deborah are sisters?! I must admit I do feel lucky every day to live surrounded by all those trees... the fact that none of our doors shut, the kitchen is the size of a postage stamp, we have freezing draughts and small rodents that seem to love to live with us, seem completely irrelevant when I look out of the window in the morning!
