"Life’s enchanted cup sparkles near the brim." - Lord Byron
"April yawns and stretches in the warm sunshine, welcoming the new month with extended arms. Nature is optimistic, rushing to fill every corner with new life, succulent spring green spreading over the land. The fool stands on one leg reaching for the glittering star above his head. It's all fools day and the light now outweighs the dark."
"Last night as darkness fell it creeped in through the big window in my room. Oozing across every surface, it filled the air. Every particle was dark and it entered me, riding my breath, covering my skin, it seeped into every pore. I sat motionless, holding the night inside me."
A week of sunshine and blustery winds. Nature seems to be racing into spring time with new things daily to see in the garden. Outside my window I watch as the leaves appear on the lilac bush, the tulips are in bud and the peonies are pushing up through the earth. There are primroses and daffodils and warm winds to usher us into April.
"All Fools day, and by my gate the Magnolia tree is abundant with promise. Its blooms like chalices, pink tinged and pointed at the sky. Such delicate beauty, still serene in the blustery wind of March's last breath. Soon there will be perfume to touch all who enter here, sweet scent at my gate, as April begins..."

It's Mothers day this Sunday - a wrapped present for my lovely Mum sits on my desk.
"Nature is painting for us, day after day, pictures of infinite beauty."
- James Russell Lowell
From my desk I watched as the Sun sank in the sky.
Magnificent and all aglow, the heavens were on fire with colour...

Lovely photos!
Thanks Gypsi, it is good to meet you. :-)
Lovely photos, Susannah. I try every day with your 'thought of the week' - I'm slowly getting better!
Thanks earlybird. :-)
Yes, the thought of the week this week is a good one to get in the practise of, often easier said than done though, I am glad you are getting there!
Good to see you. x
Lovely, lovely post. I took some photos of magnificent magnolias a couple of weeks ago. I'll dig 'em out and put 'em on my blog. The one in our garden is a sorry thing - it doesn't like the soil or the winds we get up here on our hill.
Thanks Viv. :-)
I loved the photos of Magnolias you posted on your blog - now they are proper magnolias! My little tree looks poor in comparison.
Good to see you. x
Beautiful pictures and the words from zing are just wonderful!
Envy those gorgeous photos. Mine are so obviously beginner attempts. But, we do learn as we go,
Elizabeth
Thanks Deborah. x
Elizabeth, I always enjoy your photos, I think it is just that a lot of mine are close ups and the subject itself does all the work!
Always good to see you. x
Wonderful photos!
Thanks Madeleine. :-)

This morning I tried to catch the beautiful sunrise... but nothing comes out as lovely on camera as in real life ;)
