Before the Rain Came . . .

"Rain falling, refreshing yesterdays sunwarmed garden,
everything drinks deeply, fuel for another bout of growth.
Raindrops on my window panes, sparkling like diamonds."

Now we have some rain at last. After weeks without any my water butts were empty and the garden looked thirsty. But earlier on in the week the sun was shining and we decided to go for a stroll around the village. . .
Unfortunately the battery in my camera ran out as I got half way around. I must remember to carry a spare. Perhaps I will take some more photos for next week if the weather is clement!

I hope your week has been a good one. x

Thought of the week
Do not say “It is morning” and dismiss it with a name of yesterday.
See it for the first time as a newborn child that has no name.

A delectable village . . .

Does that hen get a day off?

Susannah said...

Thanks everyone for the comments. :-)

Harry, I am sure the hen does get a day off but perhaps opts to work the eggstra hours. lol (bad joke, but I couldn't resist.)

Viv, well guessed! We are actually on the edge of Northamptonshire and are classed as technically being in that county but we have an Oxfordshire postcode! Quite confusing really. In the space of ten miles from where we live we can cross into the counties of Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Buckinghamshire plus Northamptonshire too!

How did you guess?

Oh, so beautiful! Glad Harry guided me here.

I guessed because I had an auntie who lived in Weedon and the houses etc looked similar.

Well spotted Viv! I know Weedon, it is about 10 or 12 miles away. :-)

Wonderful photos, the look of history seems to whisper off those walls. I now keep an extra set of batteries in the camera carrying case. Don't want that to ever happen again.

Elizabeth, I really will have to remember to carry a spare battery! Thanks for your comment and it is good to see you. :-)

I am absolutely in love with your village. It is so charming and is just what I think of when I think of England. I would be in raptures every day if I lived there. Oh, I just love it!

Hi Selma, yes I love it too!

I think not being born in such a place, and then moving there adds to my gratitude, as I notice the beauty every time I step outside the door. :-)

Good to see you. x
