Courgettes and Ladybirds

"The act of putting into your mouth what the earth has grown is
perhaps your most direct interaction with the earth. - Frances Moore Lappé

The courgettes are still growing, it is great just to go outside and cut some for dinner.
There are plenty of ladybirds around this year too!

We call them Courgettes here in England what do you call them where you are?

We call them zucchini in Australia. And ladybugs. Love the photos!

Hi Selma,

I knew it was zucchini in America but wasn't sure about other places. I like the sound of ladybugs though. :-)

Good to see you.

I call them courgettes. I just love those big yellow flowers. They are such a wonderful vibrant sunshine yellow. I call the beetles ladybugs. A confused soul here.

Great photos!

Hello Ann, yes they are such a wonderful colour aren't they!

So you say ladybugs too! I wonder if it is only in England that they are ladybirds?

Good to see you. :-)

I'd never heard them called courgettes before! That's interesting. It's like aubergines and eggplants :)

I love the photos!

And thanks for your sweet notes on my blog! I really appreciate it!
