Clouds, Windows and Windswept Hair. . .

Pushed by the wind, white clouds sail across the vast ocean of blue sky.
On top of my fence a sparrow fledgling chases after its parents, fluttering its tiny wings.

This week has been one of blustery wind and magnificent skies full of white fluffy clouds. I am afraid I never got to take photos of the second half of my walk from last week but I did remember to take my camera with me on a visit to my sisters home . . .

She lives in a crumbly old gatehouse of honey coloured stone that glows in the sunlight.

I love the views from her windows. . .

Who wouldn't want that view when washing up!

Surrounded by nature, It is a wonderful spot. . .
Visit over it is time to head for home.

I still have the camera in my hand so decide to experiment with photos taken from the window of the moving car - you will be glad to know that I wasn't driving! :-)

Yellow fields of rapeseed and the wonderful sky.

More clouds and my windblown hair!
(Yes, it was very tricky to get a brush through it when I got home!)

Good to remember that the sun is always shining even when obscured by clouds.

Ah, here we are - almost home!

I hope your week has been a good one. x

That view makes me so jealous. Someday. Hopefully. Thank you for the lovely pictorial.

You have the most, wonderful, poetic titles for your blog posts. You and your sister are so fortunate to live where you do - it is the stuff amazing stories are made of. I love the patterns in the clouds!

The photo's turned out lovely. I must admit I do feel lucky every day to live surrounded by all those trees... the fact that none of our doors shut, the kitchen is the size of a postage stamp, we have freezing draughts and small rodents that seem to love to live with us, seem completely irrelevant when I look out of the window in the morning! LOL
Happy Sunday to my lovely sister x

Beautiful photos, Susannah. Made me think of this poem.

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there's some corner of a foreign field
That is forever England. There shall be
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed;
A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam;
A body of England's, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives somewhere back the thoughts by England given;
Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day;
And laughter, learnt of friends; and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

Loved all the photos, and the views from the windows. But sort of liked the one of your hair whirling around in the wind. Thanks for sharing the visit,

Elizabeth

What a lovely place - I can relate to doors that don't shut and postage stamp kitchen but how fabulous those hostas look against the stone!
