My Solar Return

"Rainbow coloured envelopes in a haphazard pile.
Striped wrapping paper and glittery bows.

Ecards with loving wishes. Tweets from friends.
Smiles and happiness at a whole day of birthday still ahead!"
- My name is ZING

I think I swallowed the sun today

One gulp and it had gone
Burning and fiery
all the way down
to my belly
and there
it sits

Shining

*

So the day has turned and taken with it my fiftieth year.
Over the threshold I tumble. . . no longer just there or on the brink!

I am now officially IN my fifties!

So please join me in a slice of virtual birthday cake (it has no calories whatsoever!)
and a glass of whatever is your tipple, to help me celebrate this, my 51st birthday!

I have just found that my lovely sister has done a blog post for my birthday!
(She is trying to make me cry! I admit my chin wobbled and my eyes did get moist.) :-)
Check it out at the link below. . .

Thanks Deb, I love you! xxxx

"There may be more beautiful times, but this one is ours." Jean-Paul Sartre

"The little space within the heart is as great as the vast universe.
The heavens and the earth are there, and the sun and the moon and the stars.
Fire and lightning and winds are there, and all that now is and all that is not."

- The Upanishads

And for some astrological synchronicity to do with my birthday - see this post. . .

Thanks all of you for sharing my day. - Susannah :-) x

Happy, happy birthday to you, Susannah. Remember, life begins at 60, so you're still only a gleam in someone's eye.

Love the poem, and I will enjoy my piece of cake with my coffee.

Have a fantastic day, but it sounds as though you have already done so. Fifty is good but also proof that you are a survivor, you've already lasted this long. Pamper yourself, you deserve it,
